A Paper on a Thai Sex Worker Folk Song

This is a paper I presented at the 2005 annual conference of the Association of Asian Studies (AAS) in Chicago. It's the result of a year of informal, participant observation research on Thai sex worker subculture. The paper is in three parts: the actual text of the paper (including the lyrics of the song in both Thai and an English gloss), a map of sex worker social (in-group) gathering areas where the research was done, and a recording of the folk song that was studied. Right click on the PDF links if you want to download the PDF files (as opposed to having them open in this browser window). The link to the song will automatically open in a new browser window.
